Hon. Jennifer G. Schecter was elected to the Civil Court of the City of New York in 2009 and was assigned to the New York City Criminal Court. Before that, she served as Principal Law Clerk to Justice Eileen Bransten of Supreme Court, New York County and to Chief Judge Judith S. Kaye of the New York State Court of Appeals. She also worked as a litigation associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. Judge Schecter has taught New York Practice, Torts, Appellate Advocacy and Business Law Survey at Seton Hall University School of Law and has served as a panelist for ethics and civil-practice related continuing legal education classes. She graduated magna cum laude from Seton Hall University School of Law and from Rutgers College with High Honors.
